About Rita L. Sherwood

For more than 20 years, I’ve proudly called Destin/30A my home, where I've raised my children. Though originally from St. Louis, I’ve lived in various cities through out the country before settling in Destin in 2003, trading the hustle and bustle of Chicago for the tranquility of the beach.

I visited Destin for the first time in 1999, and when I saw its pristine beaches, I said then that I'd make it my home if we could live by the water. Fate intervened, and within six months, we found ourselves the proud owners of a Gulf-front property, fully embracing the beauty of our coastal haven.

Prior to motherhood, I acquired a degree in Broadcast Journalism and enjoyed a successful 10-year career in sales. It was during my marriage that real estate captured my interest, as we navigated property transactions in Destin and Sandestin, including ventures into 1031 tax-deferred real estate investments. Through these experiences, I developed a deep appreciation for the real estate process and the opportunity to forge lasting connections with clients.

I am dedicated to providing exceptional service, ensuring that my clients feel heard, supported, and ultimately, unmatched by any other agent. What often begins as a professional relationship turns into something more personal, enriching my life as I come to know not only my clients but also their families and friends.

Now, with both of my children thriving at Florida State University, I find myself with more free time to indulge my passion for travel, spending time with my dog Louie, and of course, my favorite, boating.
